When I moved from The Netherlands to the mountains of the Sierra Nevada in Spain, it was the middle of summer. The intense blue sky, abundance of greens, and colorful flowers overwhelmed me, and I knew I had to capture it. I poured all of that energy and beauty into this canvas board, creating a tangible representation of my new surroundings.



As the sun would rise or set, it would give a totally new dimension to the rural nature around me, and I felt embraced by this amazing view that greeted me every day. For a long time, I wondered when the decor panels would drop, but they never did. I still pinch myself and realize how lucky I am to walk in this lush, evergreen world that I now call home.

The essence of this painting is the new dimensions we are exposed to when opening ourselves up to a totally new life. It's a reminder to embrace change, explore new opportunities, and be open to the beauty that surrounds us.
